Chisocheton macranthus explained

Chisocheton macranthus is a tree in the family Meliaceae. The specific epithet Greek, Modern (1453-);: macranthus is from the Greek meaning 'large-flowered'.

Description

The tree grows up to 20m (70feet) tall with a trunk diameter of up to 30cm (10inches). The young twigs and branches are up to 1.5 inches (four centimeters) thick; intermediate between mesocaul and pachycaul.[1] The flowers are creamy-pink. The fruits are recurved, up to 120NaN0 in diameter.

Distribution and habitat

Chisocheton macranthus is found in Borneo and the Philippines. The habitat is lowland rain forests from sea-level to 400m (1,300feet) altitude.
