The HXD1D is a semi-high speed electric locomotive developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd in association with the Chinese Ministry of Railways Science and Technology Development department (Chinese: 铁道部科技司). The design was revealed in 2012 - it is a 7200kW power six axle, 126t, Co'Co' locomotive with a top speed of 160km/h. It is capable of accelerating a 3,000-passenger, 20-carriage train to 160 km/h within five minutes.
There is a prototype without numbering, with 9600kW power and 200km/h max speed. However it was abandoned as the max speed of main lines was downgraded to 160km/h.
