Charaxes harmodius explained

Charaxes harmodius is a butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It was described by Cajetan Felder and Rudolf Felder in 1867. It is found in the Indomalayan realm.[1] Charaxes harmodius is a large coppery butterfly with concave forewings with a brown apex and border and hindwings with a very small tail decorated with a submarginal line of dark brown dots with white pupils, the first a patch including two pupils of white. The reverse is coppery brown suffused with purple.
