Chaplyginsky District (ru|Чаплы́гинский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the eighteen in Lipetsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1520km2.[3] Its administrative center is the town of Chaplygin. Population: 36,069 (2002 Census); The population of Chaplygin accounts for 37.9% of the district's total population.
