Cercestis mirabilis is a perennial herb that can grow up to 11 feet tall.[1] It is an obligate climber, which means that it requires support to grow. The stem is about an inch thick and can climb up to a height of 30 feet, rooting as it climbs.[2] The leaves are simple, broad, and glabrous, with a terete petiole that is 3/4-2 feet long and grooved at the base in the adult plant. It is native to tropical Africa.[3]
