Populus × canadensis explained
Populus × canadensis, known as Canadian poplar or Carolina poplar, is a naturally occurring hybrid of Populus nigra and Populus deltoides.[1] It is a vigorous, broadly columnar, deciduous tree growing to 40m (130feet), which is commonly used by landscape architects. Cultivars include 'Robusta'[2] and 'Aurea' (golden poplar [3] or golden Carolina poplar), which has won the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.[4] [5]
