João Victor da Vitória Fernandes (born 9 January 1997), commonly known as Capixaba, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for J1 League club Cerezo Osaka.
Born in Guarapari, Espírito Santo, Capixaba joined Atlético Mineiro's youth setup in 2013. He made his professional debut on 2 April 2016, in a 7–2 Campeonato Mineiro win over Villa Nova.[1]
Capixaba made his league debut for Ferroviária against Ponte Preta on 5 February 2017.[2] He scored his first goal for the club against Santo André on 22 February 2017, scoring in the 55th minute.[3]
Capixaba made his league debut for América Mineiro against URT on 21 January 2018.[4] He scored his first goal for the club against Tupi on 24 January 2018, scoring in the 77th minute.[5]
Capixaba made his league debut for Chapecoense against Paraná on 6 September 2018.[6]
Capixaba made his league debut for Vila Nova against Aparecidense on 19 January 2019.[7] He scored his first goal for the club against CRAC on 31 January 2019, scoring in the 64th minute.[8]
Capixaba scored on his league debut for Novorizontino against Oeste on 22 January 2020, scoring in the 80th minute.[9]
Capixaba made his league debut for Coimbra against Tombense on 27 July 2020.[10]
Capixaba made his league debut for Juventude against Botafogo SP on 29 August 2020.[11] He scored his first goal for the club against Paraná on 20 November 2020, scoring in the 56th minute.[12]
He played for Juventude between 2020 and 2021, appearing 31 times, scoring thrice and helping them to a third-place finish in the 2020 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, which meant the club returned to the top division after a 14-year absence.
In February 2021, he joined Juventude on a permanent basis.[13] He made his debut for Juventude against Internacional on 1 March 2021.[14] He scored his first goals for the club against Novo Hamburgo on 9 March 2021, scoring in the 41st and 77th minute.[15]
On 8 January 2023, Capixaba officially joined Japanese side Cerezo Osaka on a permanent deal.[16] He made his debut for Cerezo Osaka against Sagan Tosu on 12 March 2023.[17] He scored his first goal for the club against Nagoya Grampus on 3 June 2023, scoring in the 4th minute.[18]
