Canova is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, United States. Its population was 118 as of the 2010 census.[2] The community is located on the west bank of the Rio Grande. It is named after the extensive irrigation in the area, as it means "sluice" in Spanish.[3]
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the community has an area of ; of its area is land, and is water.[2]
It is in Española Public Schools.[4] The comprehensive public high school is Española Valley High School.
