Calabar Municipal is a Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the city of Calabar. It has an area of 142 km and a population of 179,392 at the 2006 census.

Senator Joseph Oqua Ansa, is the first person from Calabar Municipal Local Government Area (LGA) to be voted in as a senator representing Cross River State Southern Senatorial District at the Nigerian senate in 1979.[3]
