Bymainiella monteithi explained

Bymainiella monteithi is a species of funnel-web spider in the Hexathelidae family. It is endemic to Australia. It was described in 1978 by Australian arachnologist Robert Raven.[1]

Distribution and habitat

The species occurs in north-eastern New South Wales and south-eastern Queensland in montane rainforest habitats. The type locality is Cunninghams Gap.[1]

Behaviour

The spiders are terrestrial predators that build silken tube retreats beneath logs.[1]
