Buzet (pronounced as /hr/; Latin: Piquentum; Italian: Pinguente) is a town in Istria, west Croatia, population 6,133 (2011). The historical core of Buzet dates back to the Middle Ages, and today Buzet is known as the town of truffles.[3]

History

Already at the time of Venetian rule, Buzet supplied military stations and the local population with potable water.

Geography

A few kilometers to the west is the ancient castle of Pietrapelosa.[4]

Demographics

According to the 2021 census, its population was 5,999 with 2,339 living in the town proper.
