Bruce Albert "Spider" Anderson (born January 18, 1944) is a former American football defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins, Los Angeles Rams, and New York Giants.[1] He played high school football for Marshfield High School in Coos Bay, Oregon, and college football at Willamette University, where he was an All-American.[2] Anderson was drafted in the sixth round of the 1966 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams, where he played for one season before being traded to the New York Giants.[3] He was inducted into the Willamette University athletic hall of fame in 2001.[4]

After his retirement from the league, Anderson became a stockbroker on Wall Street and later worked with the Coquille Tribe in Oregon, of which he is a member, to build housing with assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He was also briefly co-owner of the Seattle Sounders of the North American Soccer League in the early 1980s, but sold his stake in the team after disputes with fans and staff.[3]
