Brock Harris (born February 1, 1988) is an American director, writer, and actor best known as director of Cottonmouth (film).[1] He started his career in front of the camera starring in films and TV series such as Major Crimes and the Last Shoot Out. [2] The short film The Last Hunt, produced by Harris, was highlighted by the Sundance Film Festival.[3]

Biography and career

Harris, is the son of a professor at Oklahoma State University, and his mother is an Emergency Room Nurse, and physical educator. [4] Being the second of four children, Harris was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. [5] Harris practiced martial arts and trained to compete jujitsu.[6] An avid outdoorsman, Harris was once hospitilized after being bit by a copperhead snake. After studying at Stillwater High School, he received a scholarship to attend Idyllwild Arts Academy, and graduated in 2006. Harris entered and graduated as a musician and actor at The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford.[5] Harris entered and graduated as a musician and actor at The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford.[7]

When a freshman in college, he enrolled in the Asics after seeing an ad on the Internet seeking collegiate wrestlers to model. After doing the photo shoot for Asics, Harris stayed away for a while due to a surgery to remove a tumor from the back. In 2008, he gained popularity on the Internet after shooting Abercrombie & Fitch with Bruce Weber. [8] After college he started his acting career in New York City debuting in the Lincoln Center production, All American. [9] Harris is also known as an athlete, and competed on the first American Kok Boru team, a traditional sport similar to Buzkashi. He was horseman for Team USA at the World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan, and also competed in the World Championships, hosted by the World Expo in Kazahkstan. [10]
