She served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from the 132nd district from 2011 to 2019.[1] [2] She resigned on November 22, 2019, after she was elected First Selectman of Fairfield, Connecticut.[3] She was Fairfield's second female First Selectman, after Jacquelyn Durrell, who served from 1983 to 1993.[4]
Kupchick ran for re-election in 2023 with running mate Brian Farnen, but was defeated by Democrat Bill Gerber. Despite her loss, she garnered more votes than her running mate, so she was elected to serve alongside Gerber and his running mate, Christine Vitale, on the Board of Selectmen.
