Brandon Garrison Explained
Brandon Garrison (born March 31, 2004) is an American college basketball player who plays for the Kentucky Wildcats of the Southeastern Conference. He previously played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Early life and high school career
Garrison grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and attended Del City in Del City, Oklahoma.[1] Garrison was named the Oklahoma Gatorade player of the Year as a senior after averaging 15.7 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game as Del City won the state championship.[2] [3] He scored 17 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in the state title game against Carl Albert High School.[4] Garrison was also selected to play in the 2023 McDonald's All-American Boys Game.[5] Garrison was rated a four-star recruit and committed to play college basketball at Oklahoma State over offers from Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Houston.[6] [7]
College career
Garrison entered his freshman season at Oklahoma State as a reserve center.[8] He became the Cowboys' starting center four games into the season.[9] Garrison averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game during the season.[10] After the end of the season and Oklahoma State's firing of head coach Mike Boynton, Garrison entered the NCAA transfer portal.[11]
Garrison ultimately transferred to Kentucky.[12]
