The competition was a straight single-elimination tournament. Both semifinal losers were awarded bronze medals. Lin Yu-ting of Chinese Taipei won the gold medal.
Parveen Hooda was originally awarded a bronze medal for being eliminated in the semifinals, but was stripped of it in May 2024 due to a doping whereabouts failure.[2]
