Borsky District (ru|Бо́рский райо́н) is an administrative[2] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Samara Oblast, Russia. It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 2103km2. Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Borskoye. Population: 24,433 (2010 Census); The population of Borskoye accounts for 36.6% of the district's total population.
In the Lower Triassic of Borsky District remains of temnospondyls were found. These fossil taxa are Samarabatrachus, Syrtosuchus, Qantas, Dromotectum, Benthosuchus, Tupilakosaurus, Selenocara, Angusaurus and Wetlugasaurus. Other specimens possibly belong to Axitectum and Thoosuchus, also from the Early Triassic.[4]
