Mattie Thomas Blount High School is one of 16 high schools in the Mobile County Public School System. It is located in Eight Mile and in unincorporated Mobile County, Alabama.^[2]

It serves portions of Prichard.^{[3] [4]} It is named for administrator Mattie Thomas Blount. As of 2022, 96 percent of the student body is African American.^[5] It had about 1,160 students.^[6] The school colors are purple and white and leopards are the mascot.^[7] It has won several championships in football and several players have gone on to the NFL.^{[8] [9]}

Athletics

Blount's athletic teams plays in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A Region One. The nickname for the athletic teams is the "Leopards".
