Fictional character biography

Bird-Brain is one of the "Ani-Mates", a group of humanoid animals who the Ani-Mator created and experimented on. However, he escapes and befriends the New Mutants. They tried to acclimate him into human society, which failed due to his insatiable hunger.[2] Additionally, he possesses a simplistic language that leaves him unable to communicate with anyone except Cypher.[2]

Bird-Brain develops close relationships with Cypher, who is fascinated by his language, and Wolfsbane, who he sees as a kindred spirit.[3] He and the New Mutants later return to the Ani-Mator's island to free the Ani-Mates, during which he decides to live there.[3] [4] [5]
