Birch Lake is a lake 1.5miles south of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, 20miles southwest of Bartlesville[1] and 30miles northwest of Tulsa. The drainage area for Birch Lake is 66mi2. Its area covers 1137acres (conservation level).[2] The total capacity is: 52800acre.ft, subdivided into: Conservation 15800acre.ft, Flood control 39000acre.ft, and Inactive storage 15840acre.ft.[3]
The lake is formed from Birch Creek, a tributary of Bird Creek.[2] It eventually empties into the Arkansas River.It is 20miles southwest of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.[4]
The lake has largemouth bass, walleye, spotted bass, smallmouth bass, hybrid striped bass, black and white crappie, channel and flathead catfish, and different types of sunfish.[4] The marine law enforcement branch of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Troop W, is headquartered at Birch Lake.[5]
