Bille, Nigeria Explained

Bille, Nigeria should not be confused with Balle, Nigeria.

Bille is a town located in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria.[1]

The community is located on the coastline of Rivers State and accessible through water.[2]

The people of Bille town are known for traditional fishing.

Recently the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike commissioned a new jetty to aid movement of people and goods from the coastal community to the dry land area.[3]

The community houses the Bille kingdom which is a tourist site for visitors in Rivers State. The Amanyanabo of Bille Kingdom (traditional ruler) is Igbiki-Ingeri Ngowari Herbert.[4] [5]

The community also houses hydrocarbon deposit and was also involved in the oil spill case involving the host community and Shell oil company and Oghale community.[6]
