Bilal Ahmad Magray SC (died 20 August 2019) was an Indian special police officer. He was posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra, for his actions during counter-terror operation in Baramulla in 2019.[1] Bilal was killed while fighting with terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir.[2] [3] [4]
In Baramulla, Jammu & Kashmir, Bilal Ahmed Magray was employed as a special police officer. After learning that there were terrorists inside a home in Baramulla on August 20, 2019, security personnel jointly established a perimeter and carried out a comprehensive search.[5] The residence also had common people who were trapped.[6] Bilal willingly joined this assignment under such a circumstance.[7] They were being attacked by terrorists who fired randomly and used hand grenades while they were evacuating the common people from that area without regard for their lives.[8]
The President of India posthumously awarded him the Shaurya Chakra, which was presented to his mother. on November 24, 2021, in recognition of his bravery and sacrifice
