Bert Auburn is an American football kicker for the Texas Longhorns.
Auburn attended high school at Flower Mound located in Flower Mound, Texas. Coming out of high school, Auburn decided to play college football for the Texas Longhorns, joining the team as a preferred walk on.[1] [2]
In Auburn's first collegiate season, he attempted just three extra points, where he converted on all three of them.[3] In week two of the 2022 season, Auburn made four field goals including a 49 yarder which gave Texas the lead with a minute and a half left in the fourth quarter in a loss against Alabama.[4] In the 2022 season, Auburn took over as the Longhorns kicker where he made all 55 of his extra point attempts, while also going 21 for 26 on his field goals.[5] During the 2023 season, Auburn would again be perfect on his extra points converting on all 56, and making 29 of his 35 field goal attempts.[6] In week ten of the 2023 season, Auburn hit the game winning field goal in overtime versus Kansas State.[7] In the regular season finale, Auburn set multiple school records in the Longhorns win over Texas Tech for most made field goals in a season, and for the most field goals made consecutively.[8] Heading into the 2024 season, Auburn was placed on scholarship by Texas.[9]
