Bekka is a superheroine appearing in media published by DC Comics, primarily in stories set in Jack Kirby's Fourth World and DC's main shared universe, known as the DC Universe. She first appeared in DC Graphic Novel #4: The Hunger Dogs (1985), and was created by Jack Kirby.
Bekka is the daughter of Himon, a scientist who created the Mother Boxes and discovered the "x-element" that fuels Metron's Mobius Chair. For many years, Bekka and Himon live undercover on Apokolips while organizing a rebellion against Darkseid before the latter is killed while rescuing Orion's mother Tigra.
In the storyline "Torment" in Superman/Batman #37–42 (August 2007–January 2008), Bekka helps Batman rescue Superman from DeSaad. She falls in love with Batman, but chooses to stay with Orion. Shortly afterwards, Bekka is killed by Infinity-Man in Death of the New Gods.
In The New 52 continuity reboot, Bekka is a member of the Council of Eight, Highfather's elite guard.[1] [2] The Council is tasked with retrieving power rings from across the universe, during which Sinestro recruits Bekka into the Sinestro Corps.[3]
As a New God, Bekka is nigh-immortal and possesses superhuman physical abilities.[4] She can heal others and manipulate and amplify their emotions.[5] [6] Furthermore, Bekka is a skilled swordfighter and wields a Mother Box and yellow power ring.
