Bedrovo (Bulgarian: Бедрово) is a village in Chernoochene Municipality, in Kardzhali Province, in southern-central Bulgaria. It is located southeast of Sofia.[1]
About 11 km northeast of Pchelarovo, near the village of Beli Plast, the Kamenni gabi is located; also known as Mantarkaya. These unique rock formations, shaped like mushrooms and carved from volcanic rhyolite tuffs, were designated as a natural landmark in 1974.
In Pchelarovo itself, tourists can visit the church dedicated to St. Paraskeva, commonly known as St. Petka. This church features an unusual bell tower with a six-sided dome supported by circular columns. Adjacent to the church are an old church school and a large fountain, with remnants of a small chapel nearby. The church is still active and is recognized as a cultural monument.
Nearby, the medieval fortress in Gradishteto, situated on the way to Haskovo, is a medieval fortress. Declared a cultural monument of local importance, this fortress is accessible and offers a glimpse into the region’s historical past.
For those interested in fishing, the Pchelarovo and Petelovo dams close to the village offer opportunities, as well as the Daskalovo 1 and Daskalovo 2 dams, located about 12 km northwest in the village of Daskalovo.
The Ethnographic Museum in Pchelarovo showcases traditional items such as costumes and tools, providing insight into local cultural heritage.[2]
