Basketball events at the 2023 Palarong Pambansa were held from 1–5 August 2023 in Marikina City, Philippines.
The sporting event also included a tournament for 3x3 basketball for secondary school athletes, aside from the regular 5-on-5 basketball games.
The National Capital Region won two gold medals, one each for the Secondary Girls 5-on-5 and 3x3 tournaments. Western Visayas won the Elementary Boys 5-on-5 tournament, Central Visayas triumphed in the Secondary Boys 5-on-5 tournament, and Davao Region earned the gold in Secondary Boys 3x3 tournament.
The Marist elementary and high school gymnasiums in Barangay Marikina Heights, Marikina City hosted the elimination and semi-final games for Secondary Girls and Secondary Boys athletes, respectively.
The elimination and semi-final games for Elementary Boys and all games for 3x3 basketball were held at the Palaruang Batang Lambak Basketball Court in Barangay Santa Elena.
All 5-on-5 championship games were played at the Marikina Sports Center basketball gymnasium.
Eight qualifying teams, two from each of the four clusters, were split into two groups:
The regular games followed the single round robin format, while the 3x3 games followed the double round robin format. After the elimination round, the top two teams from each group played in the knockout crossover semi-finals. The losing teams battled for the bronze medal, while the winning teams vied for the gold and silver medals at the championship round.
