Bardilo Explained

Bardilo, also Bardzila and Barzila, is a Balto-Slavic and Ancient Daco-Thracian given name and surname. It is closely related to the Albanian name Bardhyl, meaning "the white star,” and a name for Illyrian kings Bardylis and Bardylis II.[1]

Etymology

Bardila was derived from the Proto-Indo-European *bʰór(h₁)ǵos; the word root, “bard,” meaning “white,” and the suffix -dila or -zila meaning “plant/herb.” The name was later reconstructed from the Daco-Thracian language, studied by Ivan Duridanov.
