Barbara (play) explained

Barbara
Place:New Theatre, Sydney
Orig Lang:English
Genre:drama

Barbara is a 1966 Australian stage play by Mona Brand. The original production was sponsored by the Elizabethan Theatre Trust.[1] [2] The Sydney Morning Herald called it "divertingly unpredictable."[3]

It was adapted for ABC radio in 1970.[4]

Leslie Rees wrote that "Plainly set out, this play gradually grew in reality as a statement of the problems of young people and as a warning to possessive parents. If there was no great brilliance or originality, neither was there any falsity: Mona Brand’s experienced hand guided the play to its quite moving conclusion."[5]
