Barat, is one of the most important villages in Bannu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.It is because of the historical site of the Akra which is also known as the Ancient Capital of Bannu.
Subtribes of Umarkhel, Shadikhel, Bannuchis along with many other subtribes of Banuchi (Shitaks) reside there. But historically Shadikhel are the most dominant and strong among these subtribes of Bannuchis.
