Badwater is a locale in Inyo County, California. It is located in Death Valley 7miles northeast of Bennetts Well. It lies along a drainge channel adjacent to the west side of the Black Mountains.[1]

Badwater has never had a permanent population, though there is a 1946 report of a campsite at Badwater.[2]

Badwater is also known for being the start of the Badwater Ultramarathon, billed as the toughest foot race on the planet.[3]
