Awok was an e-commerce company headquartered in Dubai, UAE.[1] [2] The company used to sell items such as clothing, fashion accessories, kitchenware, home appliances, consumer electronics and beauty products.[3] [4] [5] [6] [7] Awok closed its business in the month of August 2020 due to global financial situation, as said by the company on their website, even though the company had raised $30 million in April 2019[8]

History

Awok was founded in 2013 by Ulugbek Yuldashev.[1] [9] [10] [11] The company was headquartered in Dubai, UAE.[12] [13] [14] [4]

In April 2019, the company raised $30 million in funding, the company was also planning to launch its own private label. It was reported that in June 2019, the company had stopped paying its creditors including suppliers, logistics providers as well as the staff.[15]
