Awana[1] [2] [3] also known as Awan[4] is a clan of the Gurjar ethnic community of India and Pakistan.[5]
Distributions
They are inhabitant in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Hazara, Punjab, Pakistan Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, India.
In 1911 Horace Arthur Rose noted about Awana Gujjars of Gujrat district as;
