Avalanche is a 1934 Australian radio drama by Max Afford. It was a significant work in Afford's early career.
The play involved complex sound effects for the time.[2]
The play was popular and was repeated in 1934[3] and produced again in 1935[4] and 1936.
The play was performed by the BBC at a time when that was rare for Australian plays.[5]
Premise
A mountain guide, Hanns Trenker, and an English woman, Harriet Pringle, are marooned in the Tyrol region of the Swiss Alps.
