Auburn is a town in Ritchie County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 80 at the 2020 census.[2]
Auburn is located at 39.0956°N -80.8567°W (39.095430, -80.856538),[5] in the east south-east corner of Ritchie County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.34sqmi, all land.[6]
As of the census[7] of 2010, there were 97 people, 45 households, and 27 families living in the town. The population density was 285.3PD/sqmi. There were 56 housing units at an average density of 164.7/sqmi. The racial makeup of the town was 100.0% White.
There were 45 households, of which 31.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.0% were married couples living together, 13.3% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 40.0% were non-families. 40.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.16 and the average family size was 2.85.
The median age in the town was 41.5 years. 23.7% of residents were under the age of 18; 7.2% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 22.7% were from 25 to 44; 33.9% were from 45 to 64; and 12.4% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the town was 49.5% male and 50.5% female.
As of the census of 2000, there were 103 people, 41 households, and 31 families living in the town. The population density was 308.0 inhabitants per square mile (119.2/km2). There were 48 housing units at an average density of 143.5 per square mile (56.2/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 99.03% White and 0.97% Asian.

The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 2.88.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 24.3% under the age of 18, 9.7% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 26.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.7% who were 65 years of age or older.
