Atwood is an unincorporated town, a post office, and a census-designated place (CDP) located in Logan County, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Sterling, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area. At the United States Census 2020, the population of the Atwood CDP was 138.
The Atwood, Colorado, post office opened on August 10, 1885.[6] The community was named after John Atwood, a Unitarian minister.[7] [8] The Atwood post office has the ZIP Code 80722.[5]
Atwood is located in southwestern Logan County. U.S. Route 6 passes through the community, leading northeast 7miles to Sterling, the county seat, and southwest 6miles to Merino. Colorado State Highway 63 leads south from Atwood 3miles to Exit 115 on Interstate 76 and to Akron.
