Attila Molnár (born 17 January 2002) is a Hungarian track and field athlete. He set a new Hungarian national record over 400 metres at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
Molnar runs for Ferencvaros,[1] he was part of the Hungarian 4x400m relay team at the 2022 European Athletics Championships. Along with Tamás Máté, Dániel Huller, and Zoltán Wahl, he was part of the 4x400m indoor relay team that broke a 23-year-old national record, running 3:08.58 in February 2023.[2]
He set a new Hungarian national record over 400 metres when he ran 44.98 seconds in Limassol in May 2023.[3] He matched this time in July 2023, at the István Memorial in Gyulai.[4] Molnar competed at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest and lowered his national record in the 400 metres to 44.84 to qualify for the semi-final.[5] [6]
In January 2024, he set a new Hungarian indoor 400 metres record, running 46.22 seconds in Nyiregyhaza.[7] Selected for the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, he reached the final of the men's 400 meters with a new national indoor record time of 46.08. In the final he finished in fifth place overall.[8] He ran as part of the Hungarian Mixed 4x400m relay team at the 2024 World Relays Championships in Nassau, Bahamas.[9]
In June 2024, he qualified for the final of the 2024 European Athletics Championships – Men's 400 metres in Rome.[10]
