Atomic Betty is a 2005 puzzle action video game developed by Big Blue Bubble and Breakthrough New Media for the Game Boy Advance.[2] It is based on the animated television series Atomic Betty.[3]

Development

Development was handled by Big Blue Bubble, formerly of the GBA team at DICE Canada.[3] The team included fan-favorite characters in the game and aimed to use the characters' special skills in unique ways. Teamwork in overcoming obstacles and opponents was also a focus for the gameplay.[3] In April 2005, Namco announced that they would publish Atomic Betty in November of that year.[1] The game was showcased at E3 2005 in May.[4] [3] Atomic Betty went gold on October 11, 2005.[5] Although the title was originally scheduled to be released in November 2005, it was released a month earlier in October.[3] [5]

Reception

GameDaily said "The game looks good, although the sound is somewhat limited. The story is told through bright little static images lifted straight from the show. Those who aren't familiar with it may grow slightly bored by this effort, but fans will certainly get a kick out of it".

GameZone said "Atomic Betty is yet another cartoon transitioning to the gaming market and while it does nothing to advance the genre, it has found a good fit in the 2-D platform style".
