Athletics at the 1991 Summer Universiade – Men's javelin throw explained

The men's javelin throw event at the 1991 Summer Universiade was held at the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield on 25 July 1991.[1] [2]

The winning margin was an enormous 6.82 metres which as of 2024 remains the only time the men's javelin has been won by more than 6.5 metres at these games.
