Athletics at the 1985 Summer Universiade – Women's shot put explained

The women's shot put event at the 1985 Summer Universiade was held at the Kobe Universiade Memorial Stadium in Kobe on 29 August 1985.^{[1] [2] [3]}

The winning margin was 2.68 metres which as of 2024 remains the only time the women's shot put was won by more than 2.2 metres at these games.
