Aspergillus conicus explained

Aspergillus conicus is a xerophilic species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus which can cause endophthalmitis in rare cases.[1] [2] [3] [4] It was first described in 1914.[5] It is from the section Restricti.[6] Aspergillus conicus has been reported as a human pathogen.[6]

Growth and morphology

A. conicus has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
