The Ashland County Airport is a public-use airport in Ashland County, Ohio, United States. It is located three nautical miles (3.5 mi, 5.6 km) northeast of the central business district of the City of Ashland. It is included in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.[2]

Facilities and aircraft

Ashland County Airport covers an area of 45acres at an elevation of 1,206 feet (368 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway, designated as runway 1/19. It has an asphalt surface and measures 3,501 by 75 feet (1,067 x 23 m).[3]

For the 12-month period ending April 30, 2021, the airport had 8,395 aircraft operations, an average of 23 per day: 98% general aviation, 2% military, and <1% air taxi. At that time there were 36 aircraft based at this airport: 34 single-engine and 2 multi-engine airplanes. This is down from 49,240 annual operations and 37 based aircraft in 2010.

The airport has a fixed-base operator that sells fuel, both avgas and jet fuel, and offers amenities such as general aircraft maintenance, catering, courtesy transportation, conference rooms, a crew lounge, and more.[4]

The airport is undergoing terminal upgrades to improve facilities for local and transient pilots using the airport. Over $500,000 were allocated for the project.[5]

A $75,000 grant to build an access road at the airport was approved in 2022. The road came off Ohio Route 42 to improve access to the airport.[6]
