Asbury is a city in Jasper County, Missouri, United States. The population was 193 at the 2020 census.[4] It is part of the Joplin, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Asbury was platted in 1896.[5] A post office called Asbury has been in operation since 1894.[6]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.37sqmi, all land.[7]
As of the census[8] of 2010, there were 207 people, 86 households, and 61 families living in the city. The population density was 559.5/mi2. There were 103 housing units at an average density of 278.4/mi2. The racial makeup of the city was 96.1% White, 1.4% Native American, 1.0% Pacific Islander, 0.5% from other races, and 1.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.4% of the population.
There were 86 households, of which 31.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.7% were married couples living together, 14.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.3% had a male householder with no wife present, and 29.1% were non-families. 19.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.69.
The median age in the city was 41.8 years. 20.3% of residents were under the age of 18; 10.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 25.5% were from 25 to 44; 31.9% were from 45 to 64; and 12.1% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 53.6% male and 46.4% female.
