He started with discus throw but later shifted to shot put.[2] He is currently supported by Olympic Gold Quest, a sports NGO.
Malik finished 7th at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Paralympics in the men's shot put F35 event with a best throw of 13.48m in a field of eight throwers.[3] He took part in the 2018 Asian Para Games.
