Aruq (Persian: اروق) is a village in, and the capital of, Gavdul-e Markazi Rural District[2] of the Central District of Malekan County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran.
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 3,566 in 902 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 3,904 people in 1,149 households.[4] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 4,462 people in 1,288 households.[5]
