History

The company and eponymous app were founded by William Wu in South Korea in 2014,[5] who works with a K-pop agency trying to create a virtual idol for his blockchain gaming business.[6] [7] In January 2024, Artisse received $6.7 million in seed funding led by The London Fund to boost the development and marketing of its AI-driven photography app.[8] [9] [5]

Artisse uses an AI algorithm to create hyperrealistic images from uploaded photos. The app generates personalized images by combining generative AI technology, a global pool of licensed talent, and finished art services.[10] [11] [12] [13]

The app works with individual users and businesses, offering professional-grade photos and advertisement images.[2] [14]

According to the British newspaper Evening Standard the company have developed the world's first and most advanced AI photographer. It captures 15-30 photos of the user and generates 2D images, placing them in various outfits and locations worldwide.
