Aristonicus of Carystus explained
Aristonicus or Aristonikos (Greek, Ancient (to 1453);: Ἀριστόνικος) of Carystus was a ball player (σφαιριστής) in Alexander the Great's entourage.[1] He was granted Athenian citizenship as well as a statue due to his athletic prowess.[2] [3] [4] [5]
He is also mentioned in Suda.[6]
