Anthocleista vogelii explained

Anthocleista vogelii, commonly called Murderer's Mat (from Ashanti, significance unclear) or Cabbage Tree in several countries in Africa, is a rainforest tree in the family Gentianaceae.[1]

Description

Anthocleista vogelii reaches a height up to in height with leaves in opposite pairs up to long and in width in adult trees.[2] Juvenile trees are noteworthy in bearing enormous leaves up to in length by about wide with wavey edges, in opposite pairs,[3] with nodes spaced about apart.
