Annong River Explained

Annong River (Traditional Chinese: 安農溪), originally named Dianhuo River,^[1] is a river in Taiwan^[2] located in Sanxing Township,^[3] Yilan County,^[4] approximately 3 kilometers from the downtown area of Luodong Township.^[5] It is one of the tributaries of the Luodong River^[6] in the Lanyang River system^[7] and serves as the drainage channel for the tailwater of the Lanyang Power Plant.^[8] The river is about 17.2 kilometers long,^[9] with a watershed area of approximately 55.9 square kilometers.^[10] It flows through the prime areas of Sanxing Township,^[11] providing essential water for agricultural irrigation in Sanxing Township and downstream towns.^[12] It is regarded as the "River of Life" of Sanxing Township due to its abundant water resources,^[13] which also make it suitable for rafting activities.^[14] Currently, the Annong River is managed by the First River Management Office^[15] of the Water Resources Agency under the Ministry of Economic Affairs.^[16] It is the most important and water-rich river in Sanxing Township,^[17] serving purposes of hydropower generation,^[18] irrigation,^[19] and tourism and recreation^[20]
