Anita Jatav (born November 26, 1984) is an Indian female politician of the Indian National Congress (INC) from the Karauli district of Rajasthan.[1] [2] She is now a member of Rajasthan's 16th Legislative Assembly, representing the Hindaun Assembly Constituency. She is a member of the (INC) party,[3] in Rajasthan's 16th assembly election, she won with a total of 90535 votes, a lead of 37933 votes over her opponent Rajkumari Jatav.[4]
In the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly elections, including Anita Jatav, 50 female candidates were given tickets, but only 20 were elected.[5] The BJP and Congress each have nine MLAs, with two independents. The Indian National Congress fielded nine winning female candidates. The number of women candidates in this election is less than in the previous Vidhan Sabha, which had 24 women MLAs: 12 from the Congress, 10 from the BJP, one from the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, and one independent.[6]
She belonged to the Scheduled Caste group (SC) of Rajasthan, and she is 39 years[7] old and has passed the 12th standard of education.[8]
