Anandha Ragam is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language family drama series starring Anusha Hegde and Alagappan in the lead roles.[1] It premiered on 29 August 2022 on Sun TV from Monday to Saturday.[2] It is also available on the digital platform Sun NXT.[3] [4]

Synopsis

The story involves Eshwari and Azhagu Sundaram, Unfortunate events force an ambitious Eshwari and a school dropout Azhagu Sundaram to tie the knot. Can this odd couple turn their marriage into a happily ever after? Will Eshwari realize her IPS dream amidst life's many hardships?

Kannada Television actress Anusha Prathap was cast in the female lead role as Eshwari, making her debut in Tamil television dramas. Tamil actor Alagappan was selected to play the male lead of Azhagu Sundaram, making his first debut in male lead role.[5] [6] In cameo roles, Tamil actor Ilavarasu[7] and Vinodhini Vaidyanathan were cast as Eshwari's parents.

Reception

The series was described by the Times of India as "one of the most-watched daily soaps on Tamil television".[13] It had 560 episodes as of July 2024 and was said to be one of the top serials airing on Sun TV.[14]
